Hi all, Just spent the last week out in sunny Fuertaventura, flying.
Hi 80's all week, with clear blue skies and force 4-5 onshore winds :-)
Took all my main kit (0.7, 1.4, 2.0, 4.0, 7.0 Busters, Peter Lynn T-Arc, HQ Symphony 1.4 and my buggy).
Stayed at the Los Delfines apartments in Corralejo, on the northern tip of the island.
Cost of holiday 289 pp + 150 spends
Saw Flexfoil/PowerKiteShop buggy team doing a video, as well as what looked like the new Bullet (plain white, no branding!) and the new Peter Lynn F-Arc.
They were doing some impossibly crazy things with 8.5 Blade III's and buggies.
Went to the Kite festival. Mainly germans with big ram air characters. Did see a stack of 20 "birds" that gave the impression of a flock, very cool.
Meet loads of kite people, talked about kites in spanish, german, italian, french and english...badly by the way! Lots of hand signals.
I've got 3 rolls of pics as well as some video (bought a new digi vid cam), but 2 vids are not suitable for public viewing as Andy and I decided that we had to do some naked flying on the dunes (big naturist scene over there, so we thought that we'd show our support......hahahahahaha)
Got some massive scuds in (300ft +) as well as some wicked jumps and air.
Nothing funnier than scudding past a load of naked people at 10 mph! :-)
We were jumping of the dunes as well as penduluming (spl). As for getting air, my 7M just decided to lift me straight up! It was sitting at zenith, next thing I know I'm 10-12ft up and FLYING! So much for Busters not being lifters!!
To save my arms I fly almost all the time on a harness, which was great for jumping and scudding.
Bought a new kite for the collection, whilst there, a 5m Naish R3 LEI. Cost me 200 euros, and was complete with lines and bar (used in the kite surfing school, so a bit worn, but what the heck).
Glad to be back...........? NO! But it makes going back that bit more special.
