Which is why you''ll not have seen any kites there. Surely you've heard of the landyacht accident and subsequent ban? If going somewhere new, it pays to stick a post up asking if there's anything local you should know about, bans / flying restrictions / need for licence of insurance etc. Mark. Kite Bag (click)

I live in Belgium, moved here from England, kiting here is as popular as anywhere at the moment. What they have done here on many of the beaches is either have a specified kite flying zone/area or a set of times that it is ok to fly. A beach I go to in the Netherlands, just a short drive away, you can fly 2 line plus kites all year round but in the summer months July to August inc. you can fly after 6pm.. sun does not set till 10.30 in those months so it is a great compromise. Maybe suggest this to some of the councils!?! Just my two penneth worth being pro Europe

Posts: 44 (08/03/04 05:05:51) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	No ban on blackpool beach - all they ask is you are aware of other beach users and not to board to close to the promanade, and yes I have checked with them as I live here, only problem is the tidal ripples left on the beach this time of year lets say its a lil bumpy, but check out the desicion on Lytham made last Friday
