Not sure when our next outing might be.
The road works on the fourth road bridge kinda hinder the prospect. Anyone know when the bridge repairs will be finished? Regards Bill |

Had this funny southern guy phone me up (thought it was a wrong number...lol), and mentioned this. Is this gonna be the big Kitezone meet we've often talked about then?
 Might struggle to get hols off work (already got some in for Sept for our main holiday), as we're only allowed one off at a time, but will see if I can do it this is it. Where are you planning on staying, is there a caravan park there or something? |

HD I'm looking in to campsites close by. If you dont have a tent and are coming on your loansome then Scud may be able to put you up in a wing of his mansion.

If I did make it up there, it would be as a family holiday, so would have family in tow. We have a tent and caravan, but just looked on Autoroute and it's 204 miles, so might be a bit dear for the caravan with the price of petrol (how hilly is it up there for getting there?).
If we came for a week, probs the caravan, but if just for a weekend, then might have to be the tent, save a bit on petrol money...lol (call me a tight-wad...lol )

Well you did say to call you that, LOL... You would probs head straight up the A1, onto the A720 round topwards the M8, the A8000 then straight across the forth road bridge. The journey thus far is relatively flat. From the bridge to St Andews turn off, only a couple of hills, then after the turn off its flat again. Takes me about 45 mins to get to St A from Edinburgh if that gives you an idea? Regards Bill |

Nope, doesn't give me much of an idea, only ever been to Loch Lomond, but if it's mostly flattish shouldn't be too bad to get to.

Hopefully see you there then matey.We`ve all got fuel costs in mind, i gotta put me buggy on the back of the car,(its as bloody big as me car) pmsl Need to get everyone involved to put their names up,especially those in the mids cos if there is enough of us then i`ll take the works van and loads her up with everyones kit,all chip in for the deisel tho cos it`s gonna be a fair bit draggin the van all that way. I for one am really lookin forward to it |

are you allowd to camp on the beach maybe to reduce costs? i think i maybe able to go for a few days in a tent im still tring to get my m8 to go....lol would be nice to meet a few of you ps. im a bitty shy (not good when meeting ppl) |

I believe there is no camping on the beach, so it will mean treking back to campsite.

as to dates any info would be much appreciated i know theres a camp site up the hill ive been there and the walk back up is a sore one  would like to meet you and JOJO too is it and organised meet or a just turn up sorta thing |

Just a turn up sorta thing and the dates as it stands just now is the August Bank holiday weekend, think thats around the 20th.

Just been searching on Google, and these 3 seem to come up all the time:
Cairnsmill Caravan Park Craigtoun Meadows Caravan Park Found two sites for them, I think this must be their new one: Craigtoun Meadows (new) The last one is St Monans, but no details of that one really, and they don't seem to have a website. St Monans Caravan Park Craigtoun looks very nice, tariffs seem good too, Only 18.50 a night for pitch with awning, 15.50 for a tent. It doesn't seem to fluctuate by season, so I guess they must charge the same all year round. Thing is, we (still not sure I can make it) might struggle to book on anywhere now for Bank Holiday weekend, they tend to get booked up well in advance. Thats approx 5 miles from the Beach, so its not the one you can see from the beach Commander. It is a good site, but more for Vans than tents I think.

If you are talking about the caravan park that is visible on the coast above a small grassy cliff just to the south side of St Andrews that can be seen from West Sands its called Kinkell Braes Caravan Park.

I couldn't find a website for them on Google, but did find a them mentioned quite a bit....for erosion of the coastline, and part of the caravan park. Don't fancy waking up at the bottom of a cliff....lol
