Does anyone know where I can get hold of the Quick Tide Guide for Scotland - the card disk where you align a colour and code to display the approximate high and low tide times?

Hi Jojo,
I know Coastguard Kites sell them, but not sure if they cover Scotland. Does it need to be a disc type, as I know a few sites for tide times I use? UK Admiralty Easytide Find your local port then bookmark the page. You then only have to click the 'predict' button to get the tides 6 days in advance. National Data Buoy Center For various info to do with the sea, and wind speeds from buoys at sea. Then there is a tidal prediction program you run on your PC. Coastguard kites mentioned it the other week, but the source he mentioned wouldn't let me download it, but I found it elsewhere. It's only a fairly small zip file, and since I've been using it I've found it to be very accurate, and it lets you print out a monthly tide calendar to take with you as well as other things. You can download it from here: Tide Time Calculator Hope that's some use. Mark. |

HD, thanks for the info. You've given me a new link to add to my favs, always handy. I've just downloaded the Time Tide Calc but haven't had a chance to check it out yet.
I noticed Coastguard Kites were selling the cards, not for Scotland though. My idea was to plan some events well in advance. The tide guides I use at present are only for the next 10 days so anything over that would be great. Thanks Again JoJo |

Yep, I found it's mostly 10 dyas too. The beauty of that little program is it's virtually unlimited....I went back and forwards 50 years....just for research purposes you know...lol

Hi Jojo,
I spotted the Scotland Quicktide disc the other day when I was browsing a Guernsey online shop I use for camera stuff. I've used them a few times and service is good. Being in the Channel Isles there's no vat either so long as you don't exceed the import limit (18 via post) so prices are cheap. They have all 3 Quicktides which covers the whole UK Mainland Coastline. They're only 6.49 too, and 95p post for the full order, no matter if you order other stuff too. Link here for the Scotland Disc (UK North Coast): Scotland Quicktide Disc Mark. |

I hadn't thought of that Ian but I don't think there's any diving shops locally.
