Bill, I can see this list getting quite long the way people are adding to it....well done all.
Any way to make it sort them alphbetically, or north to south (may need to look on a map for that...lol), to make them easier to find if it does get a bit big? I guess they could be rearranged manually as they're added maybe? Just a thought. Mark. |

If it gets REAL big, I'll add a map to KiteZone with URL's back to the post on the forum, and a link back to to the map on sticky to keep it top.
You think that may work? Regards Bill |

Re: arbroath | ||

well as you come into arbroath from the Dundee - Arbroath road you will enter arbroath and find some caravan sites just keep going straight and you will head into town go through town and you may find a sign for the cliffs (not exactly sure about where exactly it is cause my dad drove me their)
but you will find it easily or just ask someone in the street as to the grounds there is a large section of grass that has goalposts but these are easily avoidable. as to activities i was doing a bit of recreational and boarding but was watching someone buggy for a while not got much info cause only been there twice as to the wind im not sure about this im sure other ppl fly here as i have spocked to a few ppl down their |

Commander thanks for the update!!
HD462 This is the URL to this topic so it should take you staight here if you click it (or cut and paste) p088.ezboard.com/fkitezoneforumfrm26.showMessage?topicID=10.topic This should allow me to put a map on the site with 'hotspots' linking back to the URL's example above. Regards Bill |

Yeah, it would be a good idea. I've seen people put hotspots in an image before, so clicking different bits does different things.

The area at the north end of Arbroath is Victoria Park. Its is comprised of a grass links and playing fields in a narrow strip nearly 1km long the north end is about 100m wide but it tapers down to about 10 meters at the other end.
It runs in an # south west to north east direction. The prevailing wind is from the south west so traveling along its long axis is a not too ideal down wind experience. Its possible to get a buggy or two going in the park at times but its a bit limiting for space esp on summer days when there are plenty of people about, picnics, dog walking ect. Loads more space is available outwith the peak summer season with far less members of general public wandering about. There are far better site in the area for buggying. The site is better for static and boarding. The surface is very flat and free of rabbit damage and the grass is cut regularly there is no rocks, rubbish or pointy things lying around. The entire north edge of the park is bordered by a very steep 20m high grass bank. This is used by static flyers for steep hill jumping and by a couple of paraglider pilots for launching during onshore winds which create a big updraught against the bank. INSERT DISCLAIMER HERE. Sections of the bank are also useful for trying out your first downhill runs on a land board before combining the board and a kite. There is an informal agreement with some local flyers and the local kite shop that in general whenever suitable they should use the smaller less busy section of the park at the north end nearest the cliffs beyond the road that cuts through the park. This will help to prevent any conflict between site users. This area is also has informal priority as an area for those learning to fly. If people are flying this area when you arrive then the policy is to overspill on to the main section of the park. |
