HI all
I have got into mountainboarding with my kite and i need a mountainboard but have not got the money.So is it possible to build one? Thanks Lewis |

I make some stuff and had a look at making my own boards but dont reckon its worth the effort on price alone. It usualy costs far more to buy a board as parts than as a unit. eg wheels with tyres are 50+. So for the price of a set of wheels and trucks you can almost buy a complete cheaper board. If you have already have a pile of parts or you know people who upgrade their boards and have unwanted parts it might be worth while.
Its easier to get a 2nd hand board or save for one of the inexpensive basic models. Unless sombody out there knows something more about it that I dont. |

Think you hit it on the head there Mal. Have seen some skateboard convertions and the likes, but to be honest you would be better buying second hand like Mal said, or buying a cheap one for starters

I'd agree with what Mal said too, just nto worth it on cost alone. If you fancied making a buggy that's another thing, as you can make something usable for a lot less than buying one, as I did.
But not really worth it for the price of a cheap mountainboard.

I may be in the wrong country but check out MTBZ for board prices. I've bought stuff from them and they sometimes have some great deals.(  )
